About the estate
Founded in 934, the Einsiedeln Monastery looks back on a rich winemaking tradition that can be traced back in documents to the 12th century. Today, the Kellerei Kloster Einsiedeln estate cultivates a total vineyard area of 13 hectares across the AOC Zürich and AOC Zürichsee denominations. The managed sites include vineyards in Leutschen, on the island of Ufnau, as well as in Weiningen and Unterengstringen. The grapes are pressed in the historic monastery cellar, where the vinification, aging, and storage of the wines take place. Manual labor in the vineyards and craftsmanship in the cellar characterize the daily work of the team.
