About the estate
The Kardenakhi wine cellar estate in Kakheti, Georgia, manages a fenced and secured area of four hectares. The historical cellar facility was built at the end of the 19th century by the local feudal lord Kote Afkhazi and was later managed by Count Sheremetiev, among others. The winery focuses on the traditional use of qvevris and features an unprecedented amount of these clay vessels. The grape varieties traditionally processed are Rkatsiteli and Saperavi. For winemaking and aging, the cellar is equipped with modern Italian appliances as well as historical buildings such as the sadzvele dedicated to the wine aging process.
