About the estate
The Karalashvili 1396 estate is run in the seventh generation by the Karalashvili family, whose winemaking history dates back to 1396. Production is traditionally carried out in handcrafted clay vessels buried deep in the earth. The portfolio includes white, red, and amber Qvevri wines as well as natural wines. The winery has preserved Georgian winemaking traditions for centuries and focuses on organic and natural fermentation. The wines reflect the historical heritage and the millennia-old method of Qvevri vinification.
The eno directory lists 23 wines, mostly from Saperavi and Mtsvane.
