About the estate

The João H. A. Canena (Quinta da Pigarça) estate in Cuba, Alentejo, cultivates more than 100 hectares of vineyards and has been preserving wine traditions for over three generations. Using authentic regional grape varieties, the family-run winery combines traditional methods such as manual harvesting and clay amphora vinification with modern techniques. The portfolio includes clay amphora wines, cement lagar-produced wines, and stainless steel-vinified products. The estate is part of the Alentejo Wine Route and maintains the ancient tradition of talha winemaking.
