About the estate

The Genium Celler winery was founded in 2002 in Poboleda within the Priorat region as a partnership of several families with a long tradition in viticulture. Located in the historical building that served as the first settlement of the Carthusian monks of Scala Dei, the estate operates under the supervision of winemaker Roser Amorós. All grapes come from the partners' own vineyards, featuring a significant share of old vines planted on steep slopes with very low yields. The estate practices certified organic farming with a strong commitment to sustainability and strict pruning methods to ensure high mineral quality. The red wines are primarily based on Garnatxa and Carinyena alongside minor portions of other varieties, while Pedro Ximenes and Garnatxa blanca are used for the white wines.
