About the estate
The Forstreiter estate in Hollenburg on the Danube has been family-owned since 1868 and is managed by the fifth generation. The vineyards are located around Hollenburg in the Kremstal wine region, where the soils are characterized by loess, weathered rock, and the Hollenburger Konglomerat. Grüner Veltliner is predominantly grown on the vineyard areas, complemented by Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Yellow Muscat, and the red wine varieties Zweigelt and St. Laurent. The wines captivate with minerality, spice, and profound fruit, and are distributed both in Austria and worldwide.
The eno directory lists 29 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt. The estate sells to retail and horeca. Export markets include Germany and Netherlands.
