About the estate
The Alsatian wine estate Domaine Joseph Scharsch has a family history dating back to 1755 and is managed in the eighth generation. Located in Wolxheim, the winery farms just over twelve hectares of vineyards spread across six surrounding villages, which have been converted to organic and biodynamic agriculture. The portfolio comprises nine grape varieties, yielding characterful, mostly dry wines that focus on purity and balance. Vinification is carried out with spontaneous fermentations using native yeasts and minimal intervention in the cellar. A new cellar built in 2019 supports this approach, combining traditional practices with modern standards.
