About the estate
The Domaine Jean-Yves Millaire estate dates back to 1950, when the founder purchased six hectares of vines in the communes of Saint-Michel-de-Fronsac and Fronsac. The parcels are situated on the clay and limestone hillsides and plateaus of the Fronsadais within the AOC Fronsac and Canon Fronsac appellations. After a period of lease, the family took back management of the property in 1998 and subsequently converted the vineyards to organic farming and biodynamic practices. In addition to traditional varieties, the vineyard includes atypical grape varieties such as Jurançon Noir, Petit Manseng, Colombard, Riesling, and Chenin. Cultivation focuses on holistic soil health, cover crops, and interventions timed with natural cycles to produce authentic and expressive wines.
