About the estate
The organic winery Die Traubenhüter is managed by Thomas and Magdalena Ibald in Hatzenport on the terraced Moselle valley. The estate has been certified organic since 2019 and is a member of the ECOVIN association. In the steep vineyards, work is characterized by strict yield reduction, the avoidance of artificial irrigation, and extensive manual labor. On the mineral weathered slate soils, single-varietal Riesling wines are produced. In winemaking, the estate relies on spontaneous fermentation and a long maturation period until bottling in May or June.
