About the estate
The Château Montdoyen estate is located in the south-west of the commune of Monbazillac in the Périgord Pourpre and covers a total area of 83 hectares, with 40 hectares planted with vines. The terroir features various types of clay soils resting on a bed of limestone rock. The grape varieties were selected following geological analyses, with around thirty hectares replanted at a density of 5500 vines per hectare. The red grape varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, while Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Muscadelle and Sémillon make up the white varieties. The vineyards are managed using reasoned pest control methods, including mechanical weeding and nature-friendly products.
The eno directory lists 4 wines. The estate sells to retail.
