Château La Baronne

About the estate

The Château La Baronne estate is located in the south of France in Occitania, on the northern edge of the Corbières massif on the slopes of Montagne d’Alaric. The history of the Lignères family has been linked to winemaking since the 19th century, and the property is currently managed by Jean and Anne Lignères. The estate encompasses 100 hectares of vineyards on clay, limestone, and sandstone soils at altitudes between 100 and 200 meters. Cultivated varieties include traditional grapes such as Carignan with parcels older than 120 years, Grenache noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah, as well as Grenache blanc and gris, Vermentino, and Roussanne. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2007 and under biodynamic principles since 2012, complemented by manual harvesting and gentle vinification methods.
