About the estate
The Château d'Épiré has been managed by the Bizard family across five generations since 1882 and is located in Savennières in the Loire Valley. The estate cultivates its vineyards under the influence of the Loire on a mosaic of soils ranging from sand and schist to volcanic rock. Chenin blanc is grown as the sole grape variety, harvested by hand and aged in the historic cellar following the transition to organic farming in 2022. Vinification takes place using a variety of vessels including stainless steel tanks, amphorae, and wooden barrels to preserve the subtle characteristics of the terroir. The wines are produced under the AOC Anjou, AOC Rosé de Loire, and AOC Savennières appellations.
