About the estate
The Cave du Château de Glerolles SA estate manages a vineyard area of nearly 5 hectares situated on the steep slopes descending into Lake Geneva within the Saint-Saphorin appellation in Lavaux. The vines are planted on terraced plots supported by large stone walls that absorb solar heat and, combined with the light reflected by the lake, create a remarkable climate for grape maturation. Due to the steep terrain, machinery cannot be used, requiring all vineyard cultivation to be done entirely by hand. The assortment comprises grape varieties such as Chasselas, Pinot noir, Humagne rouge, Merlot, Cabernet franc, Syrah, and Gewürztraminer. Rooted in arid soils, the vines yield concentrated and racy flavors rich in aromas typical of this region.
