About the estate

The enterprise Casa de Sarmento, SA originated in 1980 with the opening of a restaurant specialized in roast suckling pig in the Bairrada region. Over the years, this culinary initiative evolved into a restaurant chain with multiple locations across the country. Through the acquisition of two properties in the Alentejo and one in the Bairrada region, the estate achieved self-sufficiency in the production of wines, sparkling wines, and olive oil. The winery cultivates vineyards in the heart of the Demarcated Region of Bairrada as well as in the Alentejo within the Portalegre subregion. The portfolio includes wines and sparkling wines under the designations Alentejano IG, Alentejo DOC, and Bairrada DOC.
