About the estate
The Calmel & Joseph estate looks back on a history first documented in 1577, when the property was registered in the name of Noble Jehan de Calmès. Located in Languedoc, the winery cultivates a total of 20 hectares of vineyards at altitudes between 240 and 300 meters on sandy clay-limestone soils. The vineyards are certified organic and feature Mediterranean grape varieties such as Grenache noir, Grenache gris, Syrah, and Roussanne, alongside Pinot Noir. In addition to viticulture, the estate engages in diversified agriculture encompassing olive groves, cereal fields, beekeeping, and livestock. The property also serves as an experimental site for innovative and environmentally friendly cultivation methods in the region.
