About the estate
The Burg Ravensburg estate sits high above the Kraichgau and looks back on a winemaking history of more than 770 years, having been first mentioned in historical documents in 1251. The vineyards extend along southwest- to southeast-facing slopes on mineral-rich Keuper soils, which provide ideal conditions for viticulture. Well-known historic single vineyard sites of the estate include Husarenkappe and Kapellenberg for Riesling, Löchle for Pinot varieties, and Dicker Franz for Blaufränkisch. The estate practices organic viticulture, which includes hand-harvesting, careful grape selection, and working according to biodynamic principles to preserve the identity of the terroir.
