About the estate
The family project Bodega Sobreño S.A. was founded in 1998 by Roberto San Ildefonso and is located in Toro, Spain. Across a total of 80 hectares of owned vineyards, the estate exclusively cultivates the native Tinta de Toro variety, with many older vines being ungrafted and pre-phylloxera. A significant portion of the vineyards is organically certified and managed without the use of herbicides. Built in 1999, the modern winery features specially shaped stainless steel tanks as well as climate-controlled barrel and bottle cellars. The estate's own harvest is further supplemented by a close partnership with local grape growers.
