About the estate

The AZELIA AZ. AGR. di Luigi Scavino estate was founded in 1920 by Cavalier Lorenzo Scavino in Castiglione Falletto in the heart of the Langa del Barolo and is managed today by the fifth generation. The winery cultivates about 16 hectares of vineyards located in the municipalities of Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d’Alba and Montelupo Albese, with more than 75 percent planted to Nebbiolo and the remaining area dedicated to Dolcetto and Barbera. The estate follows traditional and sustainable practices, avoiding chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers in favor of natural pheromones, natural grassing and organic bovine manure. This careful vineyard management relies on old vines and mandatory green harvesting to strictly reduce yields and ensure optimal grape ripeness. The portfolio features wines under appellations such as Barolo DOCG, Barolo Riserva DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, Dogliani DOCG and Langhe DOC.
