About the estate

The traditional Weingut Walter estate located in Briedel on the Moselle looks back on a family history in winemaking dating back to 1568. Today, the family-run estate cultivates 7.5 hectares of vineyards in steep slate sites such as Briedeler Herzchen, Schäferlay, Weisserberg, and Pündericher Marienburg. The core of the portfolio is the leading grape variety Riesling, complemented by Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. The demanding manual labor in the steep slopes of up to 55 degrees results in lower yet exceptionally high-quality yields. In the cellar, the winery relies on traditional methods such as gravity, spontaneous fermentation, and extended yeast aging to produce distinctive wines from the terraced Moselle region.

The eno directory lists 24 wines, mostly from Riesling and Pinot Noir. The estate sells to retail.
