About the estate
The Castello Rametz estate looks back on a history in local winemaking first mentioned in 1227 and was the very first location to cultivate Pinot Noir in South Tyrol in 1860. The vineyards are situated on a morainic hill above Merano at an altitude of approximately 400 meters, benefiting from a favorable exposure and specific air currents. The cultivated grape varieties include Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Noir. In the production process, the winery aims to create authentic and natural wines that express the true character of each individual variety.
The eno directory lists 10 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Cabernet. The estate sells to horeca.
