About the estate
The Weingut Klosterhof estate is operated as a family business in Aesch in German-speaking Switzerland and traces its history back to 1604 and the monks of Muri Abbey. The vineyards are situated in the Seetal valley on moraine soils and benefit from a mild lake climate as well as steep south- and west-facing slopes. The grape variety portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Gamaret, and Pinot Gris, which are crafted into single-varietal wines and site cuvées. Vinification in the more than 400-year-old cellar combines traditional craftsmanship with modern standards such as gentle extraction in paddle tanks and spontaneous fermentation using wild yeasts.
