About the estate

The Weingut Karl-Werner Faust estate in Martinsthal in the Rheingau traces back to 1950 when Karl Faust began vinifying and marketing his own wine, following his great-grandfather Bernhard Faust who previously delivered grapes to a cooperative. Today, the second and third generations, represented by senior chef Karl-Werner and junior chef Frank, manage the operations. In the vineyards located around Martinsthal, Eltville, and Walluf, the focus lies mainly on Riesling, classically complemented by Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. The agricultural approach follows strict ecological guidelines with a strong emphasis on sustainability, soil cover, and biological fertilizers. Many vineyard tasks and the selective harvest are performed by hand, followed by gentle processing in the cellar.
