About the estate

The Ferdinand Abel winery based in Oestrich-Winkel is a traditional family estate now managed across three generations. The vines grow in the finest sites of the middle Rheingau, including Oestricher Lenchen, Oestricher Doosberg, Mittelheimer Sankt Nikolaus, and Hallgartener Schönhell, with portions classified as Erstes Gewächs. The soils range from deep loess and marl to calcareous and gravelly formations, imparting the distinct minerality found in the wines. The portfolio features hand-harvested wines with a primary focus on Riesling, alongside Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and sparkling wine.

The eno directory lists 30 wines, mostly from Riesling and Pinot Noir.
