The Ugo Balocco Az. Agricola di Carosso Vanda estate is located in San Marzano Oliveto in Piedmont and was founded in the early 1960s by grandfather Ugo. Today, the family business is run in the second generation by the brothers Simone and Luca, with Simone managing the vineyard work and the winemaker Luca overseeing operations in the cellar. The portfolio includes wines such as Barbera d'Asti DOCG and Monferrato DOC. Production is based on respect for nature, biodiversity and a continuous focus on quality during grape processing.

Da uve Barbera in purezza provenienti da due vigneti differenti per età ed esposizione. Le uve vengono vinificate separatamente e Solo al termine dell’affinamento si esegue l’assemblaggio.

Una dedica speciale a Nonno Alfredo. Dopo una attenta selezione in vigneto dei grappoli già in precedenza diradati, le uve vengono diraspate ed il mosto ottenuto, insieme alle bucce, viene inoculato con lieviti selezionati.

Il nome deriva dalla capezzagna che divide in metà il vigneto, ottenuto da uve Barbera in purezza provenienti da un unico vigneto particolarmente vocato.
