About the estate
The Cantina sociale Vinchio - Vaglio Serra estate was founded as a cooperative in 1959 by nineteen winegrowers in Piedmont and currently comprises around two hundred members managing 550 hectares of vineyards. The steep vineyards located in the municipalities of Vinchio and Vaglio Serra as well as neighboring areas are predominantly planted with Barbera, alongside other regional grape varieties such as Dolcetto, Cortese, Grignolino, and Nebbiolo, as well as international varieties. Due to the steep terrain, much of the vineyard work is done manually on predominantly calcareous and sandy soils. For the maturation of the wines, the facility is equipped with modern cellar technology and an underground barrique cellar featuring French oak barrels. The wines are marketed under prominent denominations such as Barbera d’Asti DOCG and Nizza DOCG.
The eno directory lists 24 wines, mostly from Barbera and Nebbiolo. The estate sells to retail, horeca, importers and distributors. Export markets include Belgium, France, Germany and Netherlands.
