About the estate

The Trois project on the Península de Setúbal was founded by three long-time friends, Filipe Cardoso, Luís Simões, and José Caninhas. Two of the partners come from families with a long wine-growing tradition, whereas the youngest partner has no prior historical background in this field. With this boutique operation, the founders establish a counterpoint to the dominant large-scale producers of the region, emphasizing the unique character and potential of the terroir. The wines are created through a combination of ancestral methods, characteristic grape varieties, and modern technology. The enterprise regards itself as an ongoing project that bridges historical roots with contemporary approaches.
