About the estate
The Casa Ermelinda Freitas estate was established in 1920 by Leonilde Freitas in Fernando Pó within the Setúbal Peninsula region and is managed today in the fourth generation by Leonor Freitas. The property currently encompasses 315 hectares of vineyards where traditional varieties such as Castelão and Fernão Pires are cultivated alongside international grapes. Characterized by a strong matriarchal tradition, the family-run winery has evolved significantly and now exports a substantial share of its production internationally. The portfolio includes wines marketed under the Palmela DOC, Península de Setúbal IG, and Setúbal DOC denominations.
The eno directory lists 8 wines, mostly from Castelão. Export markets include Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France.
