About the estate
The Quinta do Monte Alegre estate is located in the center of the Palmela wine-growing plain within the Península de Setúbal wine region in Portugal. The history of the property is closely linked to the Santana Pereira family, whose winemaking tradition dates back to 1926 and is currently managed by the fourth generation. In addition to cork oak cultivation, where cork is harvested every ten years, vineyard areas form the basis for production. The portfolio comprises multi-varietal wines, single-varietal expressions, Reserva blends, and traditional fortified wines certified as Moscatel de Setúbal DO and Moscatel Roxo de Setúbal DO. Today, the winery produces an annual average of 700,000 liters of wine and also offers wine tourism facilities on site.
