About the estate

Founded in 1999, the Tenuta di Aljano estate is situated on the first hills of the Emilian Apennines in Scandiano at an altitude of approximately 250 meters, spanning 24 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are distributed across different exposures in the Tresinaro valley and feature soils composed of sandstone, marl, clay, and notably gypsum. The estate manages its vineyards through advanced integrated crop protection, relying exclusively on mechanical weed control and organic fertilizers. Production focuses on native grape varieties such as Spergola, Lambrusco Montericco, Lambrusco Barghi, Lambrusco Oliva, and Sgavetta. Vinification involves hand-harvesting in the early morning, gentle pressing, and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks with minimal sulfur additions.
