About the estate

The Symington Vinhos - Quinta do Sol estate manages 112 hectares of vineyards within the Douro DOC denomination. The family built the winery in 1996, which comprises two separate facilities dedicated to the production of port wine and Douro DOC wines. The vineyards focus on indigenous grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, which are well adapted to the local terroir. Farming practices include organic and certified integrated pest management protocols with minimal intervention and carefully controlled irrigation. Winemaking utilizes modern equipment, including oscillation-based destemming machinery and gentle gravity-fed processing to preserve fruit quality.
