About the estate
The Caves Santa Marta enterprise looks back on a six-decade history in the heart of the Douro region and was founded in 1959 as a cooperative by a group of dedicated winegrowers. The vineyards are cultivated on schist terraces situated in privileged areas within the municipality. The wines are produced from carefully selected grape varieties originating from the Douro DOC and Port DOC appellations. In addition to winemaking, the estate offers guided tours of its historic facilities, including former distilleries and Port wine cellars.
