About the estate

The family-run Winzerhof Schönhofer estate looks back on a history dating back to 1871 and has specialized in viticulture over the decades. The winery cultivates 25 hectares of vineyards, planted with 55 percent white wine and 45 percent red wine varieties. The main grape varieties include Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt, which thrive on loess, loam, and granite soils under the Manhartsberg. Vinification is carried out varietally and with a focus on quality exclusively from self-farmed plots, featuring gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, and aging in traditional wooden casks and barriques.
