About the estate

The Schmidt estate in Russbach in the Weinviertel region, managed by the family for three generations, currently farms 35 hectares of vineyards organically and sustainably. The grapes thrive on loess soils and on the slopes of the Ölberg, where they are hand-harvested in crates and processed gently at the foot of the hill. The winery combines traditional craftsmanship with modern cellar technology, aging white wines in stainless steel or large wooden casks and red wines in steel tanks as well as wood and barrique barrels. The portfolio includes wines with the Weinviertel DAC designation. The winery focuses on resource-efficient management to produce elegant, long-living, and terroir-driven wines.

The eno directory lists 14 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt. The estate sells to retail.
