About the estate
The Schlossgut Grünenstein estate is located in Balgach in German-speaking Switzerland and produces wines of the AOC St. Gallen denomination. The wines are pressed in the newly expanded press house and aged in the ancient Burgundy cellar vaults. The estate places great emphasis on a holistic approach to soil, cultural landscape and ecosystem, with half of the vineyards already farmed according to organic guidelines. Herbicides and synthetic fertilizers are completely avoided in favor of a greened flora. The portfolio focuses on grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, which is crafted into expressive red wines.

Pinot Noir ist die Königin der Traubensorten. Starke Ertragsregulierung und eine kalte Standzeit vor und nach der Gärung lassen diesen Rotwein im Fass zu einer aromatischen Köstlichkeit heranreifen. Eine feine Tabaknote und leise Vanilletöne sind in der Nase und am Gaumen wahrnehmbar.

Der vielschichtige und komplexe Wein zeigt in der Nase Brombeeren, schwarzen Holunder und eine feine Vanille-Röstaromatik. Am Gaumen entfaltet er einen weichen Auftakt mit feingliedrigen Tanninen und einem stoffigen und zartpelzigen Finale. Im Unico sind verschiedene Traubensorten in einem zweijährigen Barriqueausbau vereint.
