About the estate

The Polczer winery in Eisenberg, southern Burgenland, looks back on a history dating back to 1912. Johann Wachter originally founded the estate with a small vine nursery and a small vineyard before handing it over to his daughter Gisela in 1952. Since 1987, Hans Polczer has been running the family business together with his wife Regine. The approximately 400-meter-high Eisenberg with its heavily iron-bearing soils forms the basis for the characteristic style of the red wines. The wines produced include Blaufränkisch as well as the Cuvée Reihburg, which has been served as the official Olympic wine in the Austria House since 2012.

The eno directory lists 9 wines, mostly from Blaufränkisch and Merlot.
