About the estate
The Philipp Rieger estate in Buggingen in the Baden region of Germany was taken over by Josepha and Bernhard Rieger in 1984 as a mixed agricultural operation and subsequently restructured into a dedicated winery. Following the transition to the next generation, the vineyards have been farmed organically according to Ecovin guidelines since 2005 and biodynamically certified by Demeter since 2010. Today, the estate cultivates more than 25 hectares of vines and is operated jointly by the family and their team across generations. In the cellar, vinification relies on spontaneous fermentation, extended lees aging, and careful alignment with lunar phases to emphasize origin and structure. The wines are distributed globally through specialized retail, gastronomy, and direct channels.
The eno directory lists 15 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate sells to horeca and retail.
