About the estate
The Ozhio'S Marani estate is located in the Kakheti region at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains and has a history dating back to the 11th century. Following archaeological excavations, the historic cellar of the Alaverdi Monastery was restored and resumed operations in 2006 with financial support. The monastery fraternity produces traditional wines here using ancient Georgian methods in clay pitchers. The cultivated grape varieties include Tsolikouri, Kapistoni, Rkatsiteli Pink, and Kakhetian Mtsvivani. Winemaking follows historical procedures to preserve the traditional characteristics of this cultural heritage.
The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Tsolikouri and Kapistoni.
