Le Piane

About the estate

The Le Piane estate is located in Boca, Piedmont, and manages ten hectares of vineyards in a historic wine region. Christoph Künzli founded the project in the nineteen nineties alongside winemaker Antonio Cerri to preserve the area's traditional vineyards. The vines grow on volcanic porphyry soils in the foothills of the Alps, benefiting from a mild microclimate and surrounding natural forests. Cultivated grape varieties include Nebbiolo, Vespolina, Croatina, and several rare or forgotten native grapes. Viticulture and vinification focus on producing distinctive, long-lived, and terroir-driven wines under the Boca DOC appellation.
