Le Clos du Breil

About the estate

The Le Clos du Breil estate has been run as a family business across six generations since 1850, evolving over time from mixed agriculture to specialized viticulture. The property spans 15 hectares of vineyards, which are predominantly planted with red grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec, alongside white varieties including Sauvignon, Sémillon, and Muscadelle. The vineyards are situated in a hilly natural setting on limestone and flint soils in Issigeac. Since 2009, the estate has restructured its vineyards to highlight the quality characteristics of the terroir through meticulous soil analysis and high-density planting.
