About the estate

The La Marca di San Michele winery was established in 2007 by Alessandro and Beatrice Bonci together with Daniela Quaresima in Cupramontana in the Marche region. The estate manages six hectares of vineyards situated in the historic Contrada di San Michele on calcareous soils at an altitude of 400 meters. The cultivated varieties primarily comprise Verdicchio alongside Montepulciano, originating exclusively from estate-owned vineyards. Farming is conducted organically and biodynamically with hand-harvesting, the avoidance of herbicides, and the use of natural fertilizers. In the cellar, fermentation proceeds spontaneously with indigenous yeasts followed by extended ageing on the fine lees to produce wines such as Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.

The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Verdicchio and Montepulciano. Export markets include Germany, United Kingdom and Portugal.
