About the estate

The Fischer Josef estate is situated on the right bank of the Danube in the Wachau region and is run by Katja and Joe Fischer. The winery cultivates the sites Kirnberg, Kreuzberg, Frauenweingärten, and Mugler in Rossatz and Rührsdorf, which are influenced by the coolness of the Dunkelstein Forest and the Danube river. The focus is on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling wines produced organically with a current conversion to biodynamics. In the cellar, minimal intervention is applied featuring spontaneous fermentation, partial maturation in wooden casks, and unfiltered bottling. This approach yields distinctive white wines that authentically express the character of their vineyards.
