About the estate

The Roman Gritsch winery is located in Spitz along the Danube in the Wachau region and is run in the second generation by Roman Gritsch. The estate's vineyards are situated directly at the Setzberg and the 1000-Eimerberg, where quality wines grow on crystalline weathered soils and paragneiss. Additional vineyard sites of the winery include Gasslreith and Steinporz. During vineyard management and vinification, great importance is attached to moderate intervention and extended aging periods. Sales take place directly at the winery following prior arrangement.

The eno directory lists 27 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Pinot Blanc. The estate sells to retail. Export markets include Czechia, Slovakia and France.
