About the estate

The Roman Gritsch estate is located in Spitz along the Danube amid the vineyards of the Wachau and is run in the second generation by Roman Gritsch, who took over the operation from his parents in 2013. The winery was founded in 1980 by Rupert Gritsch, after the grapes had initially been delivered to today's Domäne Wachau in the early years. Among the most important sites of the estate are 1000-Eimerberg, Setzberg, Gasslreith, and Steinporz. The vinification of the wines is carried out with the goal of giving them the necessary time to mature so that they can develop their full potential and aroma.

The eno directory lists 14 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. The estate sells to horeca and retail. Export markets include Czechia, Slovakia and France.
