About the estate
The Fawino Vini & Distillati winery was founded in 2012 by enologists Simone Favini and Claudio Widmer in Mendrisio, Ticino. The estate covers nearly four hectares of vineyards distributed across the slopes of Mount San Giorgio and Mount Generoso in Meride and Salorino. Cultivated grape varieties include Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Gamaret, and Ancellotta for reds, alongside Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Sémillon, and Viognier for whites. The steep plots are predominantly cultivated by hand in compliance with integrated production standards. The portfolio features red, white, and sparkling wines under the Ticino DOC designation.
