About the estate
The Swiss winery Cantina Sociale Mendrisio manages the Tenuta Montalbano estate, which was donated in 1962 and spans an area of approximately 25 hectares, making it one of the largest single-site red wine vineyards in Switzerland. The property comprises around 125,000 vines that are tended year-round by skilled workers. The product range includes Ticino DOC Merlot wines and Chardonnay used for sparkling wine production. Due to historical conditions, the estate continuously supplies data to Swiss oenology schools, possessing the oldest historical wine data archive in Ticino.
