About the estate
The El Conjuro del Ciego winery was founded in 2008 in Elciego within the País Vasco region, utilizing a historic facility in the local centennial cellar district. The estate farms 4.5 hectares of vineyards in the sites of El Conjuro and Coxera, featuring over 80-year-old Tempranillo vines trained in the traditional bush vine system. The clay-limestone soils with abundant rounded pebbles, combined with the special microclimate of the Sonsierra region, define the personality of the wine. Modern vinification relies on gravity-fed processing into truncated conical fermentation tanks holding 50 hectoliters following manual grape sorting. For aging, the property features fully updated centuries-old cellars excavated in sandstone dedicated to barrel and bottle maturation.
