About the estate
The Viña Bujanda winery dates back to 1889, when Joaquín Martínez Bujanda founded the original cellar in Oyón in the Basque Country. Today, the estate is managed by the fourth and fifth generations of the family. The vineyard area covers 127 hectares distributed across 28 distinct parcels in Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta. Traditional grape varieties such as Tempranillo and Viura are cultivated to produce classic Rioja wine styles including Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva. Vineyard management focuses on sustainability and separate parcel vinification, combined with modern cellar techniques and maturation in oak barrels.
