The Viña Real winery was inaugurated in 2004 and is located on the Cerro de Mesa in Laguardia in the Basque Country. The facility is considered an architectural gem and one of the most technologically advanced wineries in the world. The brand itself was launched in the 1920s to create wines that combine the personality and elegance of Rioja Alavesa with a balanced maturation. The estate belongs to the Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, which looks back on a long tradition dating back to 1879.
