Bodegas Sonsierra

About the estate

Bodegas Sonsierra was founded in 1961 in San Vicente de la Sonsierra in La Rioja as a cooperative of vine growers who pool their vineyards. The estate manages 150 hectares of vines in a privileged subzone of the Rioja DOCa denomination. The vineyards are dedicated exclusively to the native grape varieties Tempranillo for reds and Viura for whites. Cultivation takes place in a region with a long winemaking tradition, a unique microclimate, and distinct terroir. The portfolio includes various wine styles such as young wines, barrel-aged wines, Crianza, Reserva, Gran Reserva, as well as special and single-vineyard wines.

The eno directory lists 20 wines, mostly from Tempranillo and Tempranillo Blanco.
