About the estate
Founded in 1920 by Albert Farjon, the Domaine les Grands Bois estate is now run by the family in the fourth generation. The vineyards cover 47 hectares spread across a mosaic of plots in several communes in the Rhône Valley under the influence of a Mediterranean climate. On soils of red clay and rolled pebbles, grape varieties such as Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah for red wines as well as Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne for white wines thrive. Since 2011, the vineyards have been officially certified for organic farming. The portfolio of the winery includes wines from the Cairanne, Rasteau and Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations, among others.
